Updated plans have been revealed for 3300-3330 Geary Boulevard in San Francisco’s Laurel Heights. The latest version shows an increased residential capacity from the previous application, now seeking an eight-story building with 89 units above retail. The project applicant was not listed.

Preliminary plans have yet to be filed with the city, and the latest information published by the planning department is subject to change. The plans look to construct an eight-story mixed-use building with 89 apartments, 1,400 square feet of commercial space, and a 53-car garage. Additional space is included for 89 bicycles. Of the 89 units, 13 would be deed-restricted as affordable housing.

Demolition will be required for two existing three-story office buildings and the fire-gutted structure formerly occupied by the dim sum restaurant Hong Kong Lounge II. Partial demolition on the second floor of 3300 Geary Boulevard has already taken place over a year ago. Additional information about the potential new project remains unpublished.

The 0.42-acre parcel is at the corner of Geary Boulevard and Parker Avenue. Future residents will be just 12 minutes on foot from Golden Gate Park or 15 minutes from the Presidio.

  1. Looks good…we need more of this, especially with adequate parking.

    • Have you considered moving to the suburbs?

    • Yes, best to provide plenty of parking to encourage car ownership it might mean there’s more traffic congestion, noise, air pollution, carbon emissions, and injuries and deaths due to collisions, but at least people won’t be inconvenienced having to look for a parking spot.

  2. “Updated plans have been revealed…”

All you show is a google image of an existing site.
Where have the ‘updated plans’ been revealed? Not here, I guess.

  3. Fantastic idea. Mixed use, shops etc and affordable homes, which are much needed in this area. Convenient to public transport as well as parks etc. Ideal for downtown shops and offices.

  5. Yes, do it. This corner has been an eyesore since the explosion and housing would be perfect.
There is good, quick public transit right across the intersections so hopefully not a lot of parking will be needed.
