The Palo Alto Architectural Review Board is scheduled to review plans tomorrow morning for the residential infill project at 800-814 San Antonio Road in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The proposal has increased in scale from the previous iteration, now rising eight floors with 174 units. Timespace Group is the project sponsor.

The roughly 85-foot-tall structure is expected to yield around 176,500 square feet, excluding the two-story basement garage. The complex will include 174 apartments, of which 25 will be deed-restricted as below-market-rate housing. The affordability ranges will vary, targeting 14 very low-income households, six low-income households, and five moderate-income households. Parking will be included for 202 cars and 202 bicycles.
Lowney Architects is responsible for the design, with HMH overseeing the landscape architecture and civil engineering. The latest illustrations show a similar aesthetic approach to previous drawings, visually broken up with terraces and a setback for the top two floors. The exterior is expected to be clad with fiber cement panels.

Previously, the city had approved plans for a five-story apartment building with 75 units and retail. The 0.88-acre property is located along San Antonio Road between East Charleston Road and Leghorn Street. Future residents would be close to Highway 101 and Google’s sprawling office neighborhood around the Googleplex headquarters.
The meeting is scheduled to start tomorrow, Thursday, May 7th, at 8:30 AM. The hybrid event will occur at the City Council Chambers, with virtual participation available via Zoom. For more information about how to attend and participate, visit the meeting agenda here.
