Plans will be reviewed tomorrow morning for a four-story complex at 945 South Bascom Avenue in the Fruitdale district of San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project would construct a new medical office and retail space on the corner lot just a couple of blocks away from the sprawling Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. Campbell-based KLN Management is responsible for the application.

The roughly 54-foot-tall structure is expected to yield around 31,600 square feet, including 28,200 square feet of medical offices and 3,400 square feet for retail. Additional space will be provided for the garage, featuring 45 vehicular spaces across the ground-floor and basement level.
San Jose-based Arc Tec is the project architect, and KLA is the landscape architect. Illustrations show a non-offensive curtain-wall glass facade, stucco cladding, and wood siding.
The 0.4-acre property is located at the corner of South Bascom Avenue and Maywood Avenue, across from the Bascom Branch Library, a few blocks from Del Mar High School, and two blocks from the well-regarded Santa Clara Valley Medical Center.

The estimated cost and timeline for construction have not yet been shared.
The San Jose Planning Director is scheduled to review plans for 945 South Bascom Avenue tomorrow, July 29th, starting at 9 AM. The event will occur online via Zoom. For more information about how to attend and participate, visit the meeting agenda here.
