Plans have been approved for a four-story residential infill at 990 El Camino Real in San Bruno, San Mateo County. The proposal would replace two structures overlooking a freeway on-ramp with twenty apartments and on-site parking. The property owners are listed as two local individuals.

The 53-foot-tall structure is expected to produce twenty residential units alongside parking for 17 cars and 22 bicycles. Four residences will be deed-restricted as affordable, although the anticipated income range was not provided. The site will include 1,280 square feet of hardscaping and 1,700 square feet of landscaping.

Further details about the design and apartment sizes for 990 El Camino Real have not yet been published.

The 0.26-acre property is located along El Camino Real between I-380 and Euclid Avenue. Future residents would be a ten minute walk away from the Tanforan Mall, though the commute would involve walking beneath the loud freeway. Nearby to the site is the newly-expanded YouTube headquarters, designed by SHoP Architects.

The estimated cost and timeline for construction have not yet been shared.
