Abode Communities Plans New Affordable Housing Project in Elk Grove

One of Adobe Communities’s latest projects, Sheldon Farms North, is located at 8851 Bruceville Road in Elk Grove, Sacramento County. The five-acre grassland lot is planned as the site for future low-income housing, designed by David Baker Architects, and developed in partnership with The City of Elk Grove.

Construction is moving forward for an affordable housing project at 1633 Valencia Street across from the Mission District in San Francisco. That’s the major update from our recent site visit after crews have been working since the July groundbreaking ceremony. Mercy Housing is the project developer.

Construction Topped Out for Affordable Educator Housing in the Sunset District

Just over a year after the official groundbreaking ceremony, crews have topped out the five-story affordable educator housing development at 1360 43rd Avenue in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The Shirley Chisholm Village has replaced a former school and outdoor yard with the low-rise apartment infill designed by BAR Architects with G7A. MidPen Housing is the project developer, and Cahill is the general contractor.

Group I has submitted a second request for Conditional Use authorization to build housing at 770 Woolsey Street in Portola, San Francisco. The plan has been contentious as it will demolish most of the former University Mound Nursery, though a sizable portion of the site will be retained for permanent community use. Iwamotoscott Architecture is responsible for the design.

A $40 million makeover has been proposed for Jackson Park, located in Potrero Hill, San Francisco. The project proposal includes a $40million renovation for the Jackson Park. The San Francisco Recreation & Parks Commission approved the conceptual designs two weeks ago. The renovation project is a joint venture between San Francisco Recreation & Parks and the Friends of Jackson Park (FoJP).

Plans for Affordable Housing To Replace Surface Parking, San Francisco

New Building permits have been filed for two affordable infills with a total of 272 apartments at 1633 Valencia Street and 3485 Cesar Chavez Street at the border of Bernal Heights and the Mission District of San Francisco. One permit is listed as a priority under the San Francisco Mayor’s Office’s Executive Directive 13-01, designed by Mayor Ed Lee in 2013 to expedite the approval process for designated plans. Mercy Housing is developing 1633 Valencia Street, and Sequoia Living is developing 3485 Cesar Chavez Street.

Housing Moves Forward for 770 Woolsey Street in Portola, San Francisco

Property owner Group I is moving forward with plans to build 62 homes on the former nursery at 770 Woolsey Street in Portola, San Francisco. The proposal will reshape the 2.2-acre property with housing and a community center in two replica greenhouses. The news comes as the owner would not sell the site to Greenhouse Project, a community organization.

City Officials gathered yesterday for the official groundbreaking ceremony at 1360 43rd Avenue in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The project, two decades since first proposed, will reshape a 1.37-acre parcel with 135 new homes. MidPen Housing is the project developer working for SFUSD and the Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development.
