New Renderings Revealed for Balboa Reservoir Development, San Francisco

New renderings have been revealed for Blocks C, D, E, and F of the Balboa Reservoir development plan around 11 Frida Kahlo Way in San Francisco. The project will rise across from the City College of San Francisco campus, replacing 17 acres of surface parking and open land with over a thousand mixed-income apartments, retail, and childcare facilities. Balboa Reservoir is a joint venture between BRIDGE Housing and AvalonBay Communities.

A new affordable housing complex is now available on the market at 490 South Van Ness Avenue in Mission District, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a seven-story housing complex. Mayor London N. Breed celebrated the grand opening. Mission Housing Development Corporation (MHDC) and BRIDGE Housing are the project developers. Local architects Ankrom Moisan Architects and G7A are managing the design concepts and construction.

A recent Phase planning application has been filed verifying the composition of phase one in a 17-acre residential project on land controlled by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission at Balboa Reservoir around 11 Frida Khala Way, San Francisco. Phase one will replace surface parking with an expected 628 new residential units divided between six horizontal and vertical blocks, ranging from townhouses to condos and market-rate to affordable housing. Balboa Reservoir is a joint venture between BRIDGE Housing and AvalonBay Communities.

The project proposal consists of constructing 121 residential units and 12,000 square feet of retail space, community service space, and a child care center on the lot. The proposed site is currently used as a parking lot. Mithun | Solomon is managing the design and construction. The affordable housing complex will be developed by Mission Housing Development Corporation and Related California.
