Development permits have been approved for a 19-story residential tower at 2305 Webster Street in Northgate-Waverly, Oakland. However, project developer Avi Nevo is acquiring the new entitlement during a period when most privately funded projects in Oakland that haven’t yet broken ground are on hold. The Half Moon Bay Planning Commission has approved plans for a five-story affordable housing project at 555 Kelly Avenue in the heart of the coastal San Mateo County city. However, this approval was not simple, as several commissioners voiced strong disapproval of the project and vocalized potential conditions of approval that would contravene state law. The decision is appealable, and the project awaits final approval from the City Council.

Preliminary plans have been filed for an eight-story affordable housing project at 125 East 12th Street in Merritt, Oakland. The proposal would rise next to East Bay Asian Local Development Corporation’s approved plans for affordable housing at 121 East 12th Street. Satellite Affordable Housing Associates is leading the project and working with co-developer Eastlake United for Justice.
Entitlement permits have been filed for the Radium Theater at 2151 Ferry Point in Alameda, Alameda County. The project will reshape a two-acre parcel with a new performing arts center. The development will rise next to the Alameda Point master plan, with hundreds of homes, retail, and public open spaces proposed, many of which are already under construction or finished.
