New building permits have been filed for the four-story residential infill at 2400 Adeline Street in McClymonds, West Oakland. The permits come with a design update by KTGY, the project architect, and the loss of one unit, now proposing to build 28 homes. Signature Development Group is the developer.

The 52-foot tall structure will yield 45,750 square feet with 33,530 square feet of living space, 6,090 square feet of common space, and 3,570 square feet for the garages with parking for 15 cars, another change from previous designs. Unit sizes will vary between 890 to 1,600 square feet each. Some of the units will be offered as affordable housing.

dk Engineering is responsible for the civil engineering, with Ripley Design responsible for the landscape architecture.

The podium-style building will be clad with stucco and wood-look siding, with oversized windows and balconies facing Adeline Street.

The property is located between 24th Street and 26th Street in a residential neighborhood. A nearby connection to BART at West Oakland Station provides accessible transit around the Bay Area. Construction is expected to cost $4.6 million, a figure not inclusive of the full development price.

  1. More housing ,close to Public transportation options, save space and money by eliminating the cost of making housing for cars

  2. No No No Oakland is looking and costing more and more like SF. We would appreciate affordable housing handicapped accessible places to live shop and be able to continue to raise our family.
