CEQA Exemption has been granted for a residential infill project at 700 West Hamilton Avenue in Campbell, Santa Clara County. The development will replace a three-story commercial office and surface parking with 173 apartments across nine new structures. City Ventures is the project sponsor.

The nine-structure development will yield a combined quarter million square feet of housing. The proposal will include 89 market-rate apartments and 84 affordable apartments. The affordable unit sizes will vary, with 23 studios, 18 one-bedrooms, 20 two-bedrooms, and 23 three-bedrooms. Parking will be included for 224 cars, of which 66 will be within the affordable complex’s podium garage.

Hunt Hale Jones Architects is responsible for the design, and C2 Collaborative is the landscape architect. Illustrations show the complex will be decorated with a Spanish Revival-style exterior wrapped with stucco, tiled roof, stone blocks, and wood trim.
The roughly 3.8-acre property is located along West Hamilton Avenue and San Tomas Expressway. Future residents will be a couple of blocks from a grocery store, and just over a mile away from Campbell Community Center.
Construction is expected to last around 20 months from groundbreaking to completion.

Looks like mostly townhomes. Can you provide more info such as parcel size and density per acre?
EXCELLENT! We need MORE affordable housing!!
Good. This area has a lot of flat parking lot land that is usually empty.
Unless I’m mistaken, these are not apartments. All are either townhomes or condos in a single building. All for sale. And only a total of 26 (15%) are BMR affordable units. Not sure where YIMBY got its info, but this was reviewed by Planning Commission in December in detail. It’s a good development but not what you stated.
