Plans have been filed for a 44-unit townhome project along Senter Road between Keyes Street and East Alma Avenue in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The plans will create a narrow spine of buildings along the vacant parcel overlooking Senter Road, with a quarter of the homes designated as affordable housing. AMG & Associates is the project applicant.
The project will reshape the 2.23-acre property with a necklace of 42 three-story townhome-style units and two detached single-family residences. Of the 44 residences, 11 will be designated as affordable housing. Once complete, 24 sidewalks will be built along Senter Road.
RJA is consulting on civil engineering and design. Each townhome unit will be a mixture of various styles and features. The illustrations for the proposal show unorganized exteriors clad with stucco, fiber cement lap siding, and fiber cement trim. Setbacks and roofing are employed to articulate the facade, a technique often employed to make large apartment blocks appear smaller in scale. For the single-residence townhome, this design feature appears unnecessary.
AMG has recently published the project’s Draft Mitigated Negative Declaration document, starting a period of public comment and review extending from Friday of last week to March 30th. To see the Draft MND and learn how to comment, visit the City of San Jose website here.
An estimated date for the groundbreaking has yet to be established. Once work starts, construction is estimated to last around 15 months.

You could fit 4x the amount of homes… better than nothing I suppose.
How can one qualify?
