Construction Permits Issued for a Portion of the CityView Plaza Project in San Jose

Last week, construction permits were issued for initial work on the 185 Park Avenue parcel at CityView Plaza in San Jose. The permit will allow construction to begin on the eight-story structure, consisting of ground-floor retail and a multi-story parking garage. SF YIMBY initially reported on initial site demolitions and preparations in August of 2025, and the new approval marks steady progress for the project.

Environmental Review Published For Gilroy Civic Center Master Plan

The Environmental Impact Report has been published for a plan to reimagine the Civic Center masterplan in Gilroy, Santa Clara County. The plans would replace the existing city hall and several other structures to produce a cohesive campus for the municipal government. ELS Architecture and Urban Design is responsible for drafting the master plan, with SWA working as the landscape architect.

A new proposal could bring 30 units of townhome-style housing to the South Bay City of Sunnyvale. The site located at 1313 South Wolfe Road would span an area currently occupied by a Wendy’s, its parking lot, and an area of unoccupied space. Developers at 4Terra are hoping to convert the low-density commercial and unused space into 29 new residential units.

New Owners Purchase Site for Previously Planned Development at 211-281 River Oaks Parkway in San Jose

A major San Jose-based development project at 211-281 River Oaks Parkway has been purchased by two New York-based firms acting through an affiliate. TPG and Angelo Gordon are major real-estate sponsors on the East Coast, but their ownership of the site is a significant pivot from the previous development under the local Valley Oak Partners. Supporters of the project can hope that the new owners will be able to bring an injection of capital to the project, speeding up its production.
