Public plans have been shared for a six-story mixed-use corner project at 650 East Santa Clara Street in San Jose, Santa Clara County. The project would add 50 units, retail and office space, to the roughly half-acre parcel. Frank Chiu of HS Santa Clara LLC is listed as the project sponsor.
Last week the new development project at 1027-1035 El Camino Real in Sunnyvale held a groundbreaking ceremony, with construction beginning soon after. Developer PMB partnered with El Camino Health in the proposal of the new mixed used development, including a 4-story convalescent hospital and an adjacent 6-story senior housing facility. Designs were provided by Material Design Architects and WATG architecture firms.
The proposed development at 1197 Lick Avenue in San Jose is to be altered, reducing the overall number of units but increasing the number of affordable units available within the project. The project is located on a three-building site, and is part of the Tamien Station Transit-oriented Development Plan. Developers, The Core Cos. and Republic Urban Properties have worked with Studio T-Square architects to put forth the revised plan.
The project at 70 Encina Avenue in Palo Alto took another step forward as CEQA posted a Notice of Determination clearing the project for development in accordance with the California statewide standards. Property owner Storm Land Company first brought the proposal in 2023, and has been awaiting the Notice of Determination and other approvals before beginning construction on the Hayes Group Architects’ designs.
A new proposal plans to transform a lot with several small retail buildings into more than 400 affordable housing units at 1099 South Bascom Avenue in San Jose. The entire project would consist of solely affordable housing, with a focus on access to local transportation. b9 Architects is responsible for the preliminary plans and renderings.
