Preliminary permits have been filed for a mix of suburban expansion and apartments on a swath of open land in Gilroy, Santa Clara County. The proposal, named South Gilroy, aims to construct nearly three thousand homes across nearly 270 acres, which would single-handedly fulfill most of the city’s Regional Housing Needs Allocation obligation. Carlsbad-based HomeFed Corporation is responsible for the application.
Super Micro Computer has filed detailed plans for a new tech hub at 550 East Brokaw Road in north San Jose, Santa Clara County. The company first got involved with the property last October and purchased the site from Bay West Development this February for $80 million. The plans now will replace the former Fry’s Electronics store with an office and manufacturing complex.
The formal application has been filed with a minor plan increase for 2610 El Camino Real in Santa Clara, Santa Clara County. The update now aims to replace the existing Moonlite Center strip mall with 601 dwellings and open space. The Toll Brothers are responsible for the development.

The project invokes the Builder’s Remedy to bring several dozen units to the four-acre parcel just north of Vasona Lake County Park. Toll Brothers is the project developer.
Permits have been filed for a new residential development by 20883 Stevens Creek Boulevard in Cupertino, Santa Clara County. The proposal could replace an office campus in the predominantly low-density area of Silicon Valley with yet more single-family homes, condominiums, and townhomes. The property is owned by Stevens Creek OCA Owner LLC, associated with the Oakland-based Harvest Properties.
