The City of San Jose recently celebrated the grand opening for new affordable housing at 1171 Mesa Drive in Almaden, Santa Clara County. The Mesa Terrace Community will create 46 homes for low-income families and transition-aged youth. Eden Housing is the developer and property manager.
Concrete and steel structures are rising between Kifer Road and the Caltrain tracks at 950 Kifer Road in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The development is set to become the new headquarters for Intuitive, a medical technology firm. London-based Foster + Partners is the project architect.
New renderings have been published for the seven-story mixed-use project at 3150 El Camino Real in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The filing will reshape the 2.5-acre property with 380 homes, including some affordable units, across from the city’s tallest buildings in Palo Alto Square. Acclaim Companies is the project owner.
Construction has finished for Google’s first mass-timber office at 1265 Borregas Avenue in Moffett Park, Sunnyvale. The site is now adorned by Mothership, a two-ton sculpture by Mike Whiting that pays homage to the original Atari headquarters that preceded the new office. The project is one of the first in the Bay Area to use the burgeoning sustainable construction material.
Santa Clara City Planning Commission has granted approval mixed-use development proposed by Google in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. The project proposal includes the development of a large-scale property lot with thousands of residences, open space, public spaces, and office spaces. The site is occupied by 69 buildings. Demolition will be required for all but one of the existing structures.
