Development permits have been submitted for constructing a new residential building on 9409 International Boulevard, Oakland. The proposed project includes the demolition of an existing two-story mixed-use building at 9401 and the construction of 55 residential units. The new construction also consists of a commercial space covering approximately 2,700 square feet on the ground floor. A total of 29 parking spaces will be designed. YHLA Architects is managing the design and construction of this project.
The residential units feature 97 bedrooms, all of which will be announced as affordable units. The project will merge eight parcels into one, and the building facade will rise to four stories. A Tree Protection Permit for street trees within ten feet of construction is also included in the project proposal.
The estimated date of completion has not been announced yet.
The property is located in Elmhurst Park, Oakland. The neighborhood is a walk and bike-friendly area and is served by MUNI bus lines like 1T, 45, 90, and 98. There are many restaurants and grocery stores nearby.
