Pre-application permits have been filed for a potential fourplex to rise next to a single-family home at 14936 Sutton Drive in Cambrian, Santa Clara County. The filing uses the Builder’s Remedy and Senate Bill 330 to pursue adding density to the suburban plot. The application comes from the same developers who plan to convert their offices into housing at 97 Boston Avenue, as covered yesterday.

The project application is pursuing three separate actions, starting by subdividing the property, with the existing home on the 0.16-acre Lot 1 and future housing on the quarter-acre Lot 2. The second action is a remodeling of the existing house and slightly expanding its footprint. The third and most substantial action will be the construction of a four-unit townhouse structure.

TDDG US is responsible for the application and design. The proposed two-story structure would yield a combined 6,710 square feet. Each unit will span nearly 1,680 square feet, with three bedrooms and a one-car garage. The structure will cover a third of Lot 2, with much of the plot reserved for a paved driveway.

The project site is located in Cambrian, an unincorporated community in Santa Clara County surrounded by San Jose. The estimated cost and timeline for construction have yet to be established.

  1. Awful, Zero consideration there is no parking as it is. This will only create awful conditions for this neighborhood. Nothing says let’s develop affordable housing like destroying everyone around you for $$$. It’s unreal this is even up for consideration.

  2. Thanks for doing this. We will be there.
