Increased plans have been filed for the Julia Morgan-designed retirement community at 3400 Laguna Street in San Francisco’s Marina District. The latest application now seeks to add an eight-story complex behind the landmarked three-story brick facility designed by the famous Beaux-Arts architect. Heritage on the Marina and Sequoia Living are jointly responsible for the application.
An expansion project for the Heritage on the Marina Retirement Community inches along with a new meeting scheduled for April 17th. The property owner, SF Ladies’ Protection and Relief Society will present findings to the joint planning and preservations committees regarding a historical preservation Certificate of Appropriateness, CEQA findings, and Conditional Use Permit.
The Julia Morgan-designed YWCA Building at 1515 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland recently changed ownership for $22.5 million. The 109-year-old Renaissance revival building is now owned by a current tenant and public charter school, with plans to bring teach housing to the top two floors. Oakland-based Highbridge Equity Partners had previously owned the property.
The environmental review process has officially started for the Heritage on the Marina retirement community in San Francisco’s Marina District. The Notice of Preparation for the Environmental Impact Report of the proposed expansion of the Julia Morgan-designed facility has been published. The San Francisco Ladies’ Protection and Relief Society is the property owner.
An extension request has been filed for plans to convert the Hearst Building offices into a 170-key hotel at 5 Third Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The plans will affect three buildings on the site, including the 13-story Hearst Building, 17-29 Third Street, and the Stevenson Street annex. Bespoke Hospitality is the project sponsor.
