New San Francisco Fire Department Training Facility Proposed for 1236 Carroll Avenue, Hunters Point

San Francisco is planning to build a new Fire Department Training Facility at 1236 Carroll Avenue in Hunters Point. The project has just received approval by the City, with the Mayor having signed legislation for the property acquisition. It will replace the existing facilities at 2310 Folsom Street, and on Treasure Island at 649 Avenue N. The San Francisco Department of Public Works is responsible for the design.

Preliminary project assessment is pending for a project proposed at 3150 Third Street in Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco. The project proposal includes two new buildings featuring laboratory spaces, a pedestrian plaza, and a greenway on a parcel currently housing a warehouse. Plans call for the demolition of the existing warehouse. Workshop 1 is responsible for the design concepts and construction.

Permits have been filed seeking the approval of a new project at 2270 McKinnon Avenue in Bayview Hunters Point, San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a building offering self-storage for the public. The project calls for the demolition of the existing single-story accessory structure. Jackson Liles Architecture is managing the design concepts and construction.

India Basin Development Activity in San Francisco Planning Department

A recent planning application has shown activity for the mixed-use India Basin masterplan around 700 Innes Avenue in Bayview/Hunters Point, San Francisco. The Phase planning application has been submitted for review, stating that the multi-phase project will provide up to 1,575 new residential units, 209,100 square feet of commercial/retail space, 24.5 acres of open space, and parking for 1,800 vehicles and 1,575 bicycles. India Basin is a joint development between BUILD and the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department.

Plans Underway for 900 Innes Avenue Park, Hunters Point, San Francisco

The San Francisco Planning Department will review plans for the new 900 Innes Avenue Park in Hunters Point, San Francisco. The new 3.6 acres of public park space will feature a welcome center inside a historic cottage, a food pavilion, and a boathouse extending from Innes Avenue to the Bay. The project is led by the property owners, San Francisco Recreation & Park Department. The Trust for Public Land, a nonprofit organization, is a project representative.

Renderings Released for CDD HQ at 2000 Marin Street, Hunters Point, San Francisco

A recent Community Design review presentation has revealed renderings from a new CDD Headquarters for the SF Water Power and Sewer at 2000 Marin Street in Hunters Point, San Francisco. The area is comparatively underdeveloped, given its proximity to the Central Business District. While this project will do little to increase residential density, the new structures will help improve facilities for a department in charge of the city’s water supply.
