New detailed renderings have been revealed for the residential skyscraper at 620 Folsom Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The 62-story plans also disclose a significant increase in height and two hundred more homes than initially proposed. Designed by Arquitectonica, the crowning five-story feature will be what we at YIMBY have already labeled “The Cube.”

The City of San Francisco planning department has published its preliminary project assessment for 1401 Folsom Street, establishing that it is generally consistent with the area plan while pointing to a few points to readjust. The project is a seven-story residential infill in the SoMa at the corner of Folsom and 10th street, five blocks from the Civic Center BART Station. RG-Architecture is responsible for the application.

The project, also addressed as 639 Bryant Street, would replace a vacant building and surface parking with 85 units of affordable housing. Related Companies is the project developer collaborating with the City and County of San Francisco. Groundbreaking is expected in 2024.
