Affordable Housing Project Planned For 2330 Monroe Street In Santa Clara

A large, affordable housing project is planned for 2330 Monroe Street in the city of Santa Clara. The building, rising two to three floors, will contain 65 apartments. Units will range in size from studios to three bedrooms, twenty percent of which will be set aside for people with developmental disabilities. Freebird Development company is responsible for the development.

Biggest Little Permits of the Week: Facade Repair in SoMa, Treehouse planned in Palo Alto and More

This week, the biggest little permits include over sixty additional dwelling units, a 30,000 square foot new medical facility in Alameda, new monuments in Sacramento, and even a treehouse in Palo Alto. At this pace, over three thousand ADU’s would be produced within a year. Along with ADU’s, nineteen new single-family houses were applied for and thirty-four Tesla power walls across the counties. Perhaps the most surprising was a two-story additional dwelling unit in Palo Alto with an estimated construction price of nearly $1.4 million. If ever there was a point where an ADU became just another single-family house, this might be a contender.

Biggest Little Permits of the Day: 56 Single Family Homes in Sacramento, ADU’s around the Bay Area

For today, we have something new. We work to share with you all of the most exciting and consequential development updates across the Bay Area during the week. However, there are many permits and other stories that fall through the cracks. They tend not to be significant enough or do not come with enough details to merit a full article. We, of course, do not take your attention for granted. However, in sum, all these permits add up to a significant contribution to the built environment of the Bay Area, and we would hate to miss them. So from now on, our Saturday special will be the biggest of the little permits for the week. Today’s post will share with you the best of Friday, September 25th. Fridays are notoriously slow days for permit filings. Yet, we still found some large plans filed in Sacramento, a cannabis warehouse expansion, and eight applications for additional dwelling units, i.e., ADU, across the Bay.
