RCD Housing is responsible for the development, which will be named Maudelle Miller Shirek Community Building in honor of the late activist, vice-mayor, and eight-term member of the city council.
Demolition permits have been filed for a single-story commercial structure to make way for a five-story residential building at 2650 Telegraph Avenue in South Berkeley. The proposal would add 45 new dwelling units, including affordable housing, to the East Bay housing market. Trachtenberg Architects is responsible for the design.
Construction crews are making project on a multi-family residential building at 2556 Telegraph Avenue, at the border of South Berkeley and Southside. Named The Laureate, the building will rise five stories, adding little to the city skyline. Realtex Group is credited as the property owner, with Bright Street operating as the project manager.
Development permits were submitted for approving the construction of a three-story condominium building at 3031 Adeline Street in South Berkeley, Berkeley. The project proposal includes demolishing an existing 1,000 square feet commercial structure and constructing a five-story building with forty-two condominium units. Dinar & Associates are managing the design concept and construction of the housing project.
New renderings are out for 2015 Blake Street after the development team resubmitted plans for the multi-structure residential project on Downtown Berkeley’s edge. The seven-story and three-story buildings yield 168 units with parking and open space on-site. Laconia Development LLC is responsible for the project.
