Target Store Considered for 1336 Post Street, Western Addition, San Francisco

The Target Corporation has requested a project review meeting to consider a new retail location in an existing mixed-use building at 1336 Post Street in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco. If built, the new Target would span 34,600 square feet, a significant footprint but is just a third of Target’s typical stores. Given the exploratory condition of the proposal, it is too early to speculate about the broader implications of the project review meeting request.

Victorian Home Moved, Renderings Revealed for 807 Franklin Street, Western Addition, San Francisco

A 139-year old Victorian Home, named the Englander House, has been cleared from the parcel at 807 Franklin Street for a proposed eight-story infill. The ornate building has been transported half a mile to a new location at 635 Fulton Street, staying in the Western Addition neighborhood of San Francisco. Brown and Company are the property owners.

Permits Filed to Rehabilitate A Painted Lady from the Seven Sisters, Western Addition, San Francisco

A planning application has been filed for the rehabilitation of 714 Steiner Street, one of the iconic Seven Sisters along Alamo Square in the Western Addition neighborhood in San Francisco. The filing describes eight different alterations to make the two units habitable. While there is no proposed alteration to the front facade, there will be changes to the ground-level entrance, rooftop, and back. David Armour Architecture is responsible for the design, with historical consultation by Architecture + History LLC.
