The environmental review process has officially started for the Heritage on the Marina retirement community in San Francisco’s Marina District. The Notice of Preparation for the Environmental Impact Report of the proposed expansion of the Julia Morgan-designed facility has been published. The San Francisco Ladies’ Protection and Relief Society is the property owner.
A new residential project may be proposed for development at 721 Airport Boulevard in South San Francisco. The project proposal includes the construction of a four-story building offering residential units and onsite parking.
New aerial renderings have been published alongside a development agreement for the proposed Stonestown Mall redevelopment in San Francisco. Brookfield Properties is responsible for the application, which would replace the surface parking surrounding the shopping center into a relatively dense mixed-use neighborhood. The project will be reviewed by the city’s Planning Commission tomorrow.

The project proposal includes the construction of a new four-story residential building with and additional Accessory Dwelling Unit. The project proposes the demolition of the existing two-story two-unit residential building on the site. TECTA Associates is listed as the project applicant.
The State of California has helped secure new funds for 1515 South Van Ness Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District. The Department of Housing and Community Development has awarded $37.9 million towards a 168-unit affordable housing proposal for the vacated site. Chinatown Community Development Center and the Mission Economic Development Agency are jointly responsible for the project.
