Discretionary review permits have been filed for a proposed new building at 3145 Jackson Street in San Francisco’s Richmond District, bordering Pacific Heights. The development will expand the area from the existing two-unit structure, known as the Blair Residence.

The facilities at 1100 Van Ness Avenue opened in May of last year. The nearly half a million-square-foot structure will soon see work on a new clinical laboratory, offices, and general facilities for the University of California San Francisco.

The project will expand the project from having 1,693 square feet to 2,331 square feet. Apparatus Architecture will be responsible for design and engineering.

These permits come after approval for new building permits and site crane permits, suggesting the developers are doing some last-minute planning before construction starts. Oryx Partners had been responsible for the development in 2017. The site went for $10.6 million, and the new developers seem intent on retaining the previous scale while exploring the option of including condominiums.
