For several years now, the California Forever group has been gathering property rights to a large swath of land in unincorporated Solano County. Recently, their efforts have coalesced around a proposal to expand the existing Suisun City municipality eastwards along California Highway 12. Much of the plan is proposed to take place over a 20-year period, and exact details may be subject to change in that time. New Development Timeline Planned For Oak Knoll in Oakland

The Oak Knoll Site at 8750 Mountain Road in East Oakland has recently announced a new strategy for development. The planned project to replace the former Oak Knoll Naval Hospital has been ongoing for nearly 30 years, leaving a large area of developable long since land vacant. However, the new strategy indicated that expedited work on infrastructure could begin within the next months.

Final Environmental Documents Submitted for Arroyo Lago Project in Alameda County

A Final Environmental Impact Report was submitted to CEQA for a project on unincorporated county land near Pleasanton, Alameda County. The project’s initial surveys were submitted in 2023, with revisions in 2024 and now in 2025. It appears that at least one primary variation between the 2024 and 2025 impact reports relates to the size and design of the agricultural irrigation fields included as part of the initial development.

New Tentative Subdivision Map Submitted for Housing Project in Santa Clara County

A new Tentative Mao and Grading Approval documents were submitted for a large housing project covering 400 new single-family homes and 100 ADUs in an unincorporated Higuera Highland area of Santa Clara County. The project brought by Ginsberg and Kinion Trust will be a horseback riding-focused community, including publicly shared open spaces, a riding arena, horse trails, stables, an event center, and a community center. The horseback riding trails are to connect with the nearby Joseph D Grant County park area.

New Plans Summited to San Ramon Architectural Review Board for The Orchards Development Project

The Sunset Development Company has submitted a new layout and design plans for The Orchards Development Project, formally called Chevron Park in San Ramon. Initial Proposals for redeveloping the site were first brought in 2023, but the new plans are modified and more detailed. Plans include layouts for three districts as part of the development area along Bollinger Canyon Road in San Ramon.
