Local developer Roygbiv Real Estate has released detailed renderings for 1298 Tripp Avenue. The illustrations focus on the first in three phases of construction that will produce approximately 1,200 new apartments, including affordable housing, in Five Wounds, San Jose. Named Residencias Arrianna, the development aims to create new apartments and public amenities by the future location of the 28th Street Little Portugal BART Station.
The first phase is located north of East Julian Street, between Wooster Avenue and North 26th Street. The next two phases will be located across Wooster Avenue and a proposed walking trail that will replace derelict rails.
Phase one will produce residential amenities and 430 apartments, with 241 and 189 units respectively between the two buildings. One building will rise twelve stories tall, the other will rise ten stories. Anderson Architects are responsible for the design, which rendings show to be a high-rise interpretation of Californian Spanish style.
The development will produce around 1,200 apartments at full buildout, with parking on-site for less than three hundred vehicles.
The project will require shifting the Five Wounds/Alum Rock Urban Village border to help with the financing. The Urban Village program is one of twelve strategies established by the San Jose city government to redefine the suburban city with high-density neighborhoods.
Construction on the Little Portugal BART Station is expected to start in 2022, with the tunnel and station ready to open by 2030.
