The Shirley Chisholm Village in San Francisco’s Outer Sunset neighborhood hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony last week, celebrating the completion of a first-of-its-kind project for San Francisco. The 100% affordable units are designated as a community for educators working in San Francisco, with the goal of making housing more accessible within the city limits.
The Clearview Business Park in San Mateo was recently acquired by Harvest Properties in partnership with Stockbridge. The site, located at 3000–3155 Clearview Way, currently serves as business offices for multiple organizations, including the well-known camera company GoPro. Preliminary intentions for the site are to demolish the existing office buildings and construct up to 225 townhomes, bringing new housing to the area.
The plans for a project at 952-960 Howard Street have been revised several times from the original proposal. The newest project revision would make the building larger than the first design, but smaller than some of the other earlier concepts. oWow is listed as both developer and architect for the project.
The proposed Marinwood Plaza Housing would build 125 new affordable units at 121-197 Marinwood Avenue in unincorporated land of Marin County. Legal challenges to the project were filed by Marinwood Coalition Against Segregation, which claimed that the project violated the proscribed maximum ratio of affordable units per property. However, the challenge was voluntarily withdrawn earlier this month, clearing the way for the development to move forward.
More documents, including a design review and notice of exemption, have been filed with CEQA on behalf of a project located at 2433 Mariner Square Drive in Alameda. Previously reported on by SF YIMBY in 2024, the project is being brought by The Martin Group with plans to transform the West Alameda parcel. The current commercial area would be replaced by high-rise residential with views of downtown Oakland, the Port of Oakland, and across the San Francisco Bay.
