A hearing has been scheduled on May 14th to review a privately brought 2040 Envision Plan amendment that would allow the construction of a 17-story residential high-rise at 826 North Winchester Boulevard San Jose. The project, previously reported on by SF YIMBY in February and December of last year, would require the reassignment of the property from community commercial to transit residential.
A new plan brought by LTM Group has proposed the division of a large parcel into five lots at 1622 Fernside Boulevard, Alameda. The proposal will leave the front half of the existing lot associated with the previously constructed duplex on site, and then subdivide the rear portion into four new single unit lots.
A new application was filed for the addition of three dwelling units to the second story of an existing mixed use building at 1464 Sixth Street in Berkeley. The current building already holds three units. If approved, the application will designate all six units as affordable.
A combined team from Suffolk Construction and Gilead Sciences celebrated the topping out of the new state-of-the-art facility in Foster City. The project, at 331 Lakeside Drive, was previously reported on by SF YIMBY in 2023. Gensler is responsible for the architecture and design.
A new affordable housing development was approved at 920 Shasta Street in Redwood City. The project is linked to the development of a six-story commercial office building at 901 El Camino Real. In the office building application, developers agreed to donate the property to Abode communities as part of a plan to meet the city’s low-income housing requirements for new development. Both the office building and affordable housing complex were approved in the same meeting before the city council last month.
