The long-delayed Oceanwide Center project in San Francisco’s SoMa Neighborhood may be getting new life with a deal to change the property’s ownership. Last week, a new developer put down a nonrefundable deposit on the 50 First Street site, with hopes of closing a full deal within the next two months.
The Huntington Hotel is set to reopen at its historic building located at 1075 California Street in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood. The hotel originally closed in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, with no clear timeline for reopening. However, following a renovation project in association with Flynn Properties and Highgate, the hotel is on track to reopen its doors in early 2026.
Permits have been filed for the construction of new housing located at 1700 Sacramento Street in Berkeley. The site is currently part of the North Berkeley BART station parking, at the north-east corner. If the project successfully moves forward, it will mark the first construction phase for the North Berkeley BART redevelopment plan.
New files were submitted updating an approved residential project located at 1511 Del Paso Boulevard in Sacramento. The updates are considered minor, and Vertical Pacific Development Company is still committed to approximately the same scope of the project.
A new Seven Story residential development is currently proposed at 3606 El Camino Real in Palo Alto. The project is brought by Sares Regis Group with plans to provide a combination of affordable and market rate units to the site. A meeting of Palo Alto’s Architectural Review Board will discuss the project tomorrow at 8:30am to determine if the project moves forward.
