A recent site visit by SFYIMBY shows that construction work is almost finished for One Santana West, a new office building in West San Jose. The project will provide a new hub with a capacity for over a thousand employees in a burgeoning mixed-use district. Federal Realty Investment Trust is responsible for the development of Santana West, as well as the busy mixed-use Santana Row plan across the street.
Santana Row / Valley Fair Urban Village
Preliminary permits have been filed for a proposed development at 385 South Winchester Boulevard inside San Jose’s Santana Row/Valley Fair Urban Village boundaries. The permits show two different uses are under consideration for the site. The first option is to build commercial offices, and the second option is to produce residential housing. Ian Birchall + Associates is listed as involved with the project.
Renderings have been shared along with a new planning document for a residential building at 375 South Baywood Avenue by Santana Row, San Jose. The Mitigated Negative Declaration document shows three low-density residences replaced by an 11-story condominium building as part of the Santana Row/Valley Fair Urban Village. The project developer is Cord Associates.
Construction has topped out for One Santana West, the first phase in a thirteen-acre commercial project next to the famed Sarah L. Winchester Mystery House on Central and West San Jose’s border. The development will produce nearly a million square feet of office space, parking, retail, and greenery while retaining a mid-Century theater as part of the mixed-use Santana Row / Valley Fair Urban Village plan. Federal Realty Investment Trust is developing the project.
