Groundbreaking for BUSD Workforce Housing at 1701 San Pablo Avenue, Berkeley

Construction has officially started for the six-story affordable housing complex at 1701 San Pablo Avenue in Northwest Berkeley, Alameda County. The groundbreaking ceremony was held by the Berkeley Unified School District in partnership with the non-profit developers Abode Communities and Satellite Affordable Housing Associates. Once complete, the project will offer over a hundred units for educators in the city.

Construction Starts on Second Phase of Midway Village, Daly City

Construction is now underway for the second phase of the Midway Village development by Cow Palace in Daly City, San Mateo County. The affordable housing team celebrated the groundbreaking for Midway Village 2 earlier this month, at the same event as the ribbon cutting for Midway Village I. Once complete, the two structures will bring 260 apartments to the city. MidPen Housing is the project developer.

Number 20: 44 Montgomery Street, Financial District, San Francisco

The 20th tallest tower in the Bay Area planned or built is 44 Montgomery Street, built in San Francisco’s Financial District. Completed in 1967, the 565-foot tall structure surpassed 650 California Street’s pinnacle and became the tallest building in the United States west of Dallas. John Graham & Company, best known for the Seattle Space Needle, is responsible for the architecture.
