New building permits have been filed for a 54-unit mixed-use building at 451 28th Street in the Pill Hill neighborhood, Oakland. The six-story project on top of the currently-vacant lot includes three affordable/very-low-income units, with an estimated construction cost of over $1 million. Winder Gibson Architects are responsible for the building’s design.
Permits have been filed for the residential expansion of 1148 East 18th Street in Clinton, Oakland. The application calls for the interior renovation of the structure and adds five additional dwelling units in the existing garage and storage space. Four of the units will be duplexes, located on the ground and second floors of the structure connected with a spiral staircase.
Construction is progressing quickly for the 173-unit residential building at 1940 Webster Street in downtown Oakland. The seven-story project, also known as Modera Lake Merritt, has topped out, paving the way for construction expected to end by early next year. Mill Creek, a national firm based in Florida, is responsible for the development.
Permits have been filed for a significant expansion of residential space at 2200 Adeline Street in West Oakland. The permit requests altering the existing space, which currently houses 16 work-live units. With the coming renovations, another 20 work-live spaces will be created, yielding 36 units in total.
Permits have been filed for a residential addition to 1825 28th Street in Oak Tree, Oakland. The site sits on a large block bordered by 16th Street and Foothill boulevard. While there is a nearby rail connection, a bus route runs along Foothill Boulevard and can take riders to rail stations and other transit routes.
