The San Francisco Planning Commission has greenlighted the 13-story mixed-use proposal for 1200 Van Ness Avenue in Polk Gulch. The proposal is expected to create a 114,000 square foot commercial podium with retail and over a hundred apartments. Van Ness / Post Center LLC, linked with the One Kearny Club and United Management Co, is responsible for the development.
The eleventh tallest skyscraper in the Bay Area planned or built is Related Companies The Avery, a 618-foot tall residential tower at 450 Folsom Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The project is located on Block 8 of the Transbay development district and inside the highly redeveloped East Cut neighborhood. Rem Koolhaas’ Office of Metropolitan Architecture is responsible for the tapered design.
The development team has requested a conditional use authorization for a multi-family apartment development at 733 Treat Avenue in San Francisco’s Mission District neighborhood. The proposal would replace a two-story commercial building with an unauthorized residence with seven new dwelling units. Vanguard Properties is responsible for the application as the property owner.
The Prado Group has requested a project review meeting for a three-story residential proposal at 2055 Chestnut Street in San Francisco’s Marina District. The development would replace a bank and surface parking with 49 rental apartments and new retail space for the busy high-end neighborhood. Jensen Architects is managing the design.
A year after SFYIMBY first covered San Francisco’s only new office tower to be delivered in 2021, construction work is wrapping up at 5M on 415 Natoma Street and 434 Minna Street in SoMa. Located by the 5th and Mission Street intersection, Brookfield is readying the new office tower and residential tower, expanding the high-rise plateau southwest of the Yerba Buena Gardens and Moscone Center. Brookfield and Hearst are jointly responsible for the billion-dollar project.
