Plans have been revealed for a $1 Billion medical campus in Emeryville, Alameda County. The announcement comes after the Sacramento-based not-for-profit Sutter Health purchased the 12-acre Emery Yards development in the densely-built city, featuring two existing multi-story structures, a massive parking garage, and several vacant lots. Sutter Health will be collaborating with Sutter East Bay Medical Group to manage the site.
Recent plans have been filed to convert a reconstructed three-story brick building at 117 J Street in Old Sacramento to become a 14-key hotel. The existing structure is a reconstruction of the gold rush-era Sacramento Daily Union Building. Sacramento-based Bollinger Family 2012 LLC is listed as the current property owner.

During July, we reported on the final approval for the Stonestown redevelopment, several large projects in Silicon Valley invoking the Builder’s Remedy, and increased plans for an eight-story apartment complex in the Outer Sunset. However, the most commented-on story of the month and the year for us was a 15-story apartment tower rising over College Avenue in Rockridge, Oakland.
