Plans for a 23-story UC Berkeley Dorm are expected to be discussed this Wednesday in a meeting with the Finance and Capital Strategies Committee for the Regents of the University of California. The project will bring 1,625 beds and a new dining hall to 2200 Bancroft Way in Southside, Berkeley. Construction is estimated to start as early as next year and cost nearly half a billion dollars.
Plans are moving forward for The Ivy, an assisted-living housing complex at 828 Diablo Road in Danville, Contra Costa County. The proposal will replace the Sloat Garden Center at the corner of Diablo Road and El Cerro Boulevard with over a hundred units in a three-story low-rise complex. Oakmont Management Group is responsible for the development via O&I Development LLC.
The City of Menlo Park recently celebrated the groundbreaking of a new affordable housing project for veterans at 795 Willow Road, Menlo Park. The project proposal included the development of a new 100% permanent supportive housing community offering affordable housing options for veterans. MidPen Housing is the project developer. Van Meter Williams Pollack LLP is responsible for the designs. Guzman Construction Group is the general contractor.
Plans have been revealed for a $1 Billion medical campus in Emeryville, Alameda County. The announcement comes after the Sacramento-based not-for-profit Sutter Health purchased the 12-acre Emery Yards development in the densely-built city, featuring two existing multi-story structures, a massive parking garage, and several vacant lots. Sutter Health will be collaborating with Sutter East Bay Medical Group to manage the site.
Recent plans have been filed to convert a reconstructed three-story brick building at 117 J Street in Old Sacramento to become a 14-key hotel. The existing structure is a reconstruction of the gold rush-era Sacramento Daily Union Building. Sacramento-based Bollinger Family 2012 LLC is listed as the current property owner.
