City Published Environmental Review for 660 University Avenue, Palo Alto

After nearly a year and a half of waiting, the City of Palo Alto has published the Draft Environmental Impact Report for a proposed four-story apartment infill at 660 University Avenue. With the Draft EIR published, the public will be able to provide comments to the city and the developer and proceed with the application. Mountain View-based Smith Development is the project sponsor.

Construction Starting This Summer for Lake Merritt BART Development, Oakland

Bay Area Rapid Transit has announced that construction is scheduled to start this summer on the Lake Merritt BART Station redevelopment in Downtown Oakland. Crews will start by replacing a surface parking lot with a seven-story affordable housing project and a landscaped paseo. Oakland Planning Commission is scheduled to review the updated phasing for the project tomorrow afternoon.

New Renderings Revealed for Townhomes at 739 Sutter Avenue, Palo Alto

New Renderings have been revealed for a residential project at 739 Sutter Avenue in Midtown, Palo Alto. The project proposal includes the construction of a three-story residential infill. Plans call for the demolition of an eight-unit apartment complex on the site. Pleasanton-based DAHLIN Group is responsible for the design. BKF Engineers is the civil engineer. Grace Li, a real estate developer based in San Mateo, filing through Sutter 739 Associates LLC, is responsible for the project. Anyi Landscape Studio is responsible for the landscape architecture.

Permits Filed for Oakland Roots and Soul Soccer Stadium

Development permits have been filed for a new stadium for two soccer clubs at 8000 South Coliseum Way in Coliseum, East Oakland. The project would replace a surplus parking lot within the Coliseum campus and allow the two teams to start playing in the 2025 season. The permits were filed the same day the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum board unanimously approved plans for the Oakland Athletics to negotiate a lease agreement for 2025-2026 with the teams’ owner.
