Mecah Ventures has proposed a new 14-story luxury high-rise in downtown San Mateo. According to the developer, the building is specifically designed to appeal to retirees and empty nesters who are looking to downsize, but who want to stay in San Mateo. Designed by Arc Tec, the building will include hotel-style amenities such as a spa, gym, golf simulator, and indoor movie theater.
Super Micro Computer has filed detailed plans for a new tech hub at 550 East Brokaw Road in north San Jose, Santa Clara County. The company first got involved with the property last October and purchased the site from Bay West Development this February for $80 million. The plans now will replace the former Fry’s Electronics store with an office and manufacturing complex.
A new office building has been proposed for development at 2 West 3rd Avenue in San Mateo. The project proposal includes the construction of a new three-story office building with onsite bike parking and landscaped open areas. Arc Tec Inc. is responsible for the designs. Taniguchi Landscape Architecture is responsible for landscaping.
The San Mateo Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans later today for a five-story apartment proposal at 616 South B Street near Central Park and close to the city’s downtown. The development, named Nazareth Vista, will replace a single-story shop with 48 homes and retail. San Mateo-based developer Nazareth Enterprises is the property owner.
Development permits have been filed seeking approval of a new residential project proposed for development at 500 East 4th Avenue in San Mateo, San Mateo County. The project proposal includes the construction of a mixed-use complex offering spaces for residential and retail uses. Demolition will be required for five structures, including two pre-1888 wood frame houses, a 1932-built former market, and two low-slung mid-century commercial buildings. A former gas station at 524 East 4th Avenue has already been demolished.
