UCSF Parnassus Heights Housing and Hospital Proposal Approved, Sunset District, San Francisco

The Regents of the University of California, the governing body for the state-wide university system, has unanimously voted to approve a $3 billion 30-year development of the U.C. San Francisco Parnassus Heights campus in Sunset District, San Francisco. Herzog & de Meuron, with HDR as the architect of record, will design the medical facility expansion, including 1,263 residential units for students and hospital staff, a new hospital, and research buildings.

UCSF Opens Medical Facility at 490 Illinois Street, Mission Bay, San Francisco

A new medical facility has been opened for the University of California, San Francisco, at 490 Illinois Street, Mission Bay, San Francisco. The development expands upon an already-expansive campus of medical facilities run by the city university. The structure will contain the UCSF’s Wayne and Gladys Valley Center for Vision, dedicated exclusively to research, teaching, and patient care services relating to eye care.

1100 Van Ness Addition

Expanded Laboratory for New Sutter Health Building at Polk Gulch, San Francisco

New permits have been filed to expand laboratory space within the recently-completed Sutter Health Building in the Polk Gulch neighborhood near San Francisco’s City Hall. The facilities at 1100 Van Ness Avenue opened in May of last year. The nearly half a million-square-foot structure will soon see work on a new clinical laboratory, offices, and general facilities for the University of California San Francisco.
