Demolition and excavation work is underway for two major projects in the UCSF Parnassus Heights campus in San Francisco. Crews finished removing the seven-story UC Hall, and only a corner of the four-story Mental Health Services building remains as of our visit. The sites are expected to be transformed into a research building and hospital, with both scheduled to finish by 2028 and 2030, respectively.
A recent site visit has shown notable progress on demolition and excavation for the 2,600-home Potrero Power Station development nine months after groundbreaking. Crews have removed several structures while retaining the historic Station A and 300-foot smokestack, both brick structures will serve as focal points in the 29-acre waterfront development in Dogpatch, San Francisco. Associate Capital is responsible for the project.
Detailed new renderings have been published for UCSF’s proposed new hospital addition to the Parnassus Heights Campus. The new renderings with design by Herzog & de Meuron come with the Draft Environmental Impact Report’s publication and the start of a public comment period. University of California, San Francisco is the project sponsor.
The Regents of the University of California, the governing body for the state-wide university system, has unanimously voted to approve a $3 billion 30-year development of the U.C. San Francisco Parnassus Heights campus in Sunset District, San Francisco. Herzog & de Meuron, with HDR as the architect of record, will design the medical facility expansion, including 1,263 residential units for students and hospital staff, a new hospital, and research buildings.
New renderings reveal a sleek modern addition to transform the historic “Station A” into a modern office building. The twelve-story adaptive re-use will feature design by Adamson Associates with consultation from the high-profile Herzog & de Meuron. With affordances for workers and the general public, this mid-rise development will be a part of the massive Potrero Power Station development in Dogpatch, led by Associate Capital’s Barrel Company LLC.
