Construction work has started for La Avenida Apartment Community, a new affordable housing project at 1100 La Avenida Avenue in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. Once complete, Eden Housing will be providing 100 new units of affordable rental units across from the Microsoft Silicon Valley campus. Completion is expected next year.

The plans will reshape a portion of a storage facility by Highway 101. Alta Housing is the project sponsor and developer.

The project will transform a city-owned vacant building into 120 new homes for residents earning between 30-60% of the Area Median Income. Mountain View’s City Council has approved plans for Middlefield Park, a massive mixed-use development planned by Google Real Estate in the city’s East Whisman Precise Plan, Santa Clara County. With approval achieved, the project team expects to start construction by 2024. Google and Lendlease are jointly responsible for the development.
