Groundbreaking for Cherry Street Commons Affordable Housing in San Carlos, San Mateo County

Construction has started for Cherry Street Commons, a new five-story affordable housing complex at 1232-1244 Cherry Street in San Carlos, San Mateo County. The development is expected to bring nearly three dozen units for low-income families, developed by the joint partnership of Eden Housing and HIP Housing. The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by the project team alongside Mayor Sara McDowell, Congressman Kevin Mullen, State Senator Josh Becker, and Assemblymember Diane Papan.

Environmental Review Starting For San Carlos Northeast Plan

There’s new progress in San Carlos’s bid to add nearly two thousand units to an industrial neighborhood close to the San Mateo County city’s Caltrain Station. The Northeast Area Specific Plan would rezone a 43-acre district for new housing. Earlier this week, the city published the notice of preparation for the Draft Environmental Impact Report (DEIR) and solicited public comment to inform the review.

Construction Nearly Done for Life Sciences Project in San Carlos

Construction is wrapping up for the latest life science development at 1091 Industrial Road in San Carlos, San Mateo County. The project is part of a new hub for the biotech and medical research market on the Peninsula. Premia Capital and Prince Street Partners were jointly responsible for the development before selling it to the Florida State Board of Administration in 2021 for $177 million.
