New renderings have been published for The Hub, a 17-story mixed-use development at 2132 Center Street in Downtown Berkeley. The project will create 283 apartments designed for students attending UC Berkeley. The Hub is well located for such a purpose, as it will rise across from the campus’s western entrance. Core Spaces is the project developer.
Renderings have been published alongside a new planning application for a five-story Element brand hotel at 2200 Stockton Boulevard in Med Center, Sacramento. The project will create a 151-key hotel managed by Marriott across from the UC Davis Medical Health Center, as well as expansion plans for Aggie Square. Leeland Properties is the project client.
Last week, SFYIMBY was given a tour of 1900 Broadway in Downtown Oakland. Construction has surpassed ground level, and by next week Behring Companies CEO Colin Behring tells us that a new floor will be visible from the street. At full buildout, the 39-story skyscraper will target young professionals with housing, amenities, and co-working space right above a Bus Rapid Transit stop and the 19th Street BART Station fifteen minutes away from San Francisco.
Construction is wrapping up for Modera Lake Merritt, a new rental apartment complex at 1940 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland. The project is opening with 173 new rental units, ranging between studios and two-bedroom homes, with prices starting over $2,500 per month. Mill Creek Places is responsible for the development and leasing.
New renderings have been revealed for yet another proposed single-family residence in the Oakland Hills. The single-unit structure is to be built at 13193 Skyline Boulevard, Oakland. Ben Tarcher Architects, a Bay Area-based firm operating since 1974, will be responsible for the design.
