New elevations have been revealed for the proposed 30-story residential tower at 1338-1370 Mission Street in SoMa, San Francisco. While the conceptual illustrations are sparse with the architectural features, they depict a glass tower with interlocking shapes extending from the seven-story podium with articulated facade variations. Malex Holdings is the property owner, with the architecture by SmithGroup.
Strada has filed a preliminary project assessment permit for a 347-foot tall mixed-use tower with affordable housing at 395 3rd Street in SoMa, San Francisco. The application comes as breaking news for a previously unreported project. If approved as is, Strada would add 559 new units to the city’s housing market. While sales for housing on Yerba Buena Island are underway, the first sign of concrete is finally visible on Treasure Island. The first of many buildings to come is rising at parcel C3.2, a 100% affordable housing development called the Maceo May Apartments. Its 105 units are a fraction of the largest master plan for residential construction in the Bay Area. The approximately 8,000-unit plan for the two islands is being developed by Treasure Island Community Development (TICD), a partnership with Stockbridge Capital Group, Wilson Meany, and Lennar Corporation.
The preliminary project assessment application has been closed as plans advance for the six-story mixed-use building at 80 Julian Avenue, to be called The Village, in the Mission District, San Francisco. Friendship House, the project lead, describes The Village as a unique urban proposal, an inter-tribal community coalition center for Native organizations and groups serving the city’s Indigenous population.
