Carmel Partners has unveiled Ever Green, a new permanent public art installation by Bay Area artist Taraneh Hemami. The 24-foot tall sculpture coincides with Carmel and Greystar announcing Atlas is 70% leased. Located at 385 14th Street in Downtown Oakland, the 40-story residential tower has added 633 rental units to the city.
New aerial photographs show significant progress since April of this year for Brooklyn Basin, a mixed-use development reshaping a former industrial section of the Oakland waterfront. Six apartment building sites are in stages of development, varying from foundational work starting to residents already moved in. Oakland-based Signature Development Group is developing the project, with joint financing from Signature, Zarsion Holdings Group, and Reynolds & Brown.
The Oakland City Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for a factory for ceramic beads and fabrication of lithium extraction units at 1700 20th Street in Prescott, Oakland. The project proposal includes the relocation of business operations to an existing 82,000 square-foot industrial building at the property site. Lilac Solutions Inc is the project developer.
Pre-application permits have been filed for a new building at 520 11th Street in Downtown Oakland. The project would serve as a new main campus for Samuel Merritt University. The campus is currently located at 3100 Telegraph Avenue in Pill Hill, affiliated with Sutter Health and the Alta Bates Summitt Medical Center. Strada Investment Group is responsible for the application.
New development permits have been filed for a five-story residential project at 578 7th Street in the southwest corner of Downtown Oakland. Construction would rise between Clay and Jefferson Street, adding dozens of new market-rate and affordable apartments to the Oakland housing market. Riaz Capital is responsible for the application.
