Construction is underway for 1175 Aster Avenue, a transit-oriented apartment complex in Sunnyvale, Santa Clara County. The 412-unit building is within walking distance of Caltrain’s Lawrence Station, connecting riders from San Francisco through San Jose, as far south as Gilroy. Olympic Residential Group is responsible for the master plan, with design by Studio T Square.
Permits have been filed seeking the approval of operating a hotel as a semi-congregational shelter. The property, Ansonia Hotel, is located at 711 Post Street in Lower Nob Hill, San Francisco. Core Hotels, LLC is the property owner. San Francisco Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing is the project applicant.
Preliminary development permits have been filed to propel the Mandela Station project at West Oakland BART development located at 1451 7th Street in West Oakland. Development agreement and a preliminary application for future changes to the building height and approved uses have been submitted. San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit District is the property owner. JRDV Architects is responsible for the design concepts and construction.
The San Francisco Arts Commission has attended the first of at least four presentations to review plans to reimagine the South Ocean Beach Waterfront. The project will add new community amenities, increase accessibility, and promote habitat restoration as part of the Ocean Beach Climate Change Adaptation Project in the Lakeshore neighborhood, San Francisco. The Ocean beach development is a multi-agency collaboration between the San Francisco Recreation and Parks, Public Utilities Commission, and Public Works, with private-industry involvement from Moffatt & Nichol and MFLA.
Recently published documents by the City of Oakland show that the Oakland Waterfront Ballpark District project could see two 600-foot towers beside the 35,000-person ballpark. If fabricated today, they would be the tallest skyscrapers in California outside of San Francisco and Los Angeles. Hines’ 622-foot proposal for Oakland at 415 20th Street is the only proposal that would be taller. The Oakland A’s are the project developer and sponsor, operating through the Oakland Athletics Investment Group LLC.
