Construction has started for the four-story affordable housing complex at 231 Grant Avenue in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The project will open 110 units for teachers, school district staff, and their families, including staff in Santa Clara County and several southern San Mateo County school districts. The project has been a joint venture between Abode Communities and Mercy Housing.
Construction has topped out for the 19-story mass timber apartment structure at 1510 Webster Street in Downtown Oakland, Alameda County. The project, the tallest mass timber tower on the West Coast, will bring 236 new residences capped by a public rooftop deck. oWow, the project developer, hopes to welcome their first residents before the year’s end.
New renderings have been published for a six-story residential infill at 2018 Blake Street in South Berkeley, Alameda County. The plan will create 12 co-living apartments in two structures divided by a ground-level courtyard. Tripalink is the project developer.
NX Ventures has purchased the surface parking lot and small Yummy House shop at 2109 Milvia Street in Downtown Berkeley, Alameda County. The developer has proposed to construct a 14-story residential infill on the property, with 105 apartments and retail.
The Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development has announced an official Request for Qualifications, seeking potential development partners to build at 1979 Mission Street in San Francisco’s Mission District. The property had previously seen the ‘Monster in the Mission’ proposal, a contentious ten-story apartment by Maximus. Now, the city-owned lot will become 100% affordable housing thanks to an agreement with Crescent Heights, the developer behind a 55-story proposal in The Hub.
