In April the City of Oakland announced the acquisition of the Extended Stay America at 3650 Mandela Parkway by the city’s partners Memar Properties and The Housing Consortium of the East Bay. The project is now under review for conversation to long-term affordable housing, with a plan of serving very low and extremely low-income classifications.

The property owners at 906-910 Clement Street have submitted a request for an office to residential conversion in San Francisco’s Inner Richmond Neighborhood. The plans would convert the existing 2nd floor office space into three residential units, while leaving the ground floor unchanged. T-Square Design has submitted plans for the project alongside the application.

Affordable Housing Conversion Planned for 1035 Van Ness in San Francisco

A proposed project in San Francisco would convert an existing 106-unit residential building at 1035 Van Ness Avenue into a 124-unit fully affordable building. The units will be classified as Affordable Permanent Supportive Housing, a model combining affordable housing with supportive services to help individuals with disabilities or special circumstances preventing them from finding long-term housing. The project is brought by the veteran-focused non-profit Swords to Plowshares.
