A Notice of Exemption was recently filed with CEQA, permitting the construction of a large infill project at 555 West Midfield Road in Mountain View. The project is brought by the existing site owners, AvalonBay Communities, who currently manage 404 apartment units at the address. The new project will add an additional 323 units, for a total of 727 on the site.
An application was submitted that would allow for modifications of a three-story mixed-use building located at 4758 Mission Street in the southern part of San Francisco. The renovations would include the construction of four new residential units, accessible through the existing building’s rear yard area. Architecturally, the building’s envelope is to remain unchanged.
The City of Berkeley’s Zoning Adjustments Board will meet today to discus a proposed zoning change for a project at 1740 University Avenue in Berkeley. The project would convert an existing two story commercial space into 12 residential units. Three small retail spaces will remain at the street front of the property. The change from previously approved commercial usage to mixed residential is what will be discussed for zoning purposed.
Plans have surfaced for a potential office-to-housing conversion and expansion of a three-story office building at 2300 Stockton Street in San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf neighborhood. Initial documents show the applicant is looking to increase the floor count and bring new residences to the city’s popular tourism neighborhood. Thousand Architects is responsible for the plans.
Zoning permits have been filed for a residential conversion of 2001 Center Street in Downtown Berkeley, Alameda County. The application is looking to redevelop the seven-story office building with 58 apartments, a block away from the BART Station along Shattuck Avenue. Los Angeles County-based M.S. Consulting Engineering is listed as the project applicant.
