Construction Imminent for Phase Two of Potrero HOPE SF Development, Potrero Hill, San Francisco

Construction is expected to start soon for phase two of Potrero HOPE SF, a development plan to replace 619 affordable units with 1,700 new residences, of which 819 will be sold below-market-rate. The developers have already finished phase one, and they tell SFYIMBY construction will start this month on phase two, including 1801 25th Street in Potrero Hill, San Francisco. BRIDGE Housing is developing the project, with the San Francisco Housing Authority as the property owner.

Plans Reviewed for Massive Google Middlefield Park, Mountain View, Santa Clara County

Development plans are under review for a mixed-use Google Middlefield Park master plan in Mountain View, Santa Clara County. Google’s proposal brings up to 1,950 apartments, retail, 10.5 acres of parkland, and over a million square feet of offices with transit-oriented planning. The development possible after the city adopted its East Whisman Precise Plan in 2019. Google is working with Lendlease to develop the project and is expecting completion as late as 2040.

Early Plans for High-Rise Housing at 1325 East Julian Street, Five Wounds, San Jose

Preliminary planning documents have been submitted to the city for significant mixed-use development at 1325 East Julian Street in the Five Wounds Urban Village of San Jose. Named Via De Camila, the proposal is in the beginning stages, but early documents suggest between seven to eleven buildings with as many as 1,300 residential units. ROYGBIV Real Estate Development is responsible for the project.

SFYIMBY Construction Update for Phase One of Four at Brooklyn Basin, Oakland

A site visit by SF YIMBY shows construction is well underway for the Brooklyn Basin development, one of the largest in the city of Oakland with thousands of units and two planned skyscrapers. One of the residential structures is already accepting move-ins, and two others are nearing completion. Located adjacent to the gentrifying Jack London District, it is a new mixed-use district with 3,100 new units, 200,00 square feet of ground-floor commercial space, a few marinas, and thirty acres of public parks.
