The site is along a winding road on a small mountain. Nearby transit access is offered to MUNI Light Rail via the station at Carl Street and Cole Street.
Permits have been filed for a six-story dormitory at 5900 Newman Court, East Sacramento. This new building will be just off of Carlson Drive. It will help continue California State University Sacramento’s growth, a large university with over thirty thousand students. The area has access to Sacramento’s light rail system via the University/65th Street station or 59th street station.

The location is just a nine-minute walk away from the Dublin/Pleasanton BART station, which runs through San Francisco and Oakland. Dublin and Pleasanton are also invested in bus lines throughout their towns, giving transit options across the Tri-Valley. Brookfield Calwest Builders LLC is responsible for the development.

The site is in an area that is underserved by transit, so residents in the area almost universally drive rather than make the long trek to the nearest transit station. Oakmore is a primarily single-family neighborhood with winding and hilly streets.

The city is mostly single-family housing with large yards and famous anti-density representation. Transit access in the immediate area is limited, although a commute into San Francisco is available via Caltrain through a park and ride station.
