Partial demolition permits have been filed to facilitate the conversion of the La Quinta by Wyndham Hotel into affordable housing at 1390 El Camino Real in Millbrae, San Mateo County. The project hopes to use funds from the statewide Homekey program to create new permanent supportive housing. The Episcopal Community Services of San Francisco will operate the future property and services.
Construction has started for a new homeless shelter at 1237 San Antonio Road in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County. The project will create 88 shelter housing units for formerly homeless individuals, with rooms opening by Spring 2025. LifeMoves and the City of Palo Alto are jointly responsible for the development.
Plans for the Palo Alto Homekey have reached the planning department, with an application for entitlement recently submitted and under review. The project is being developed by the City of Palo Alto in collaboration with Menlo Park-based LifeMoves. Once complete, the project would create a support services facility and 76 units of temporary housing for formerly homeless individuals.
New building permits have been filed to renovate 1000 Sutter Street into permanent supportive housing for unhoused residents in San Francisco’s Nob Hill neighborhood. The project aims to contribute 232 new dwelling units to address the housing crisis through the state’s Project Homekey fund.
