This morning, the San Francisco Board of Supervisors Budget and Finance Committee meeting will consider providing millions for the stalled affordable housing project at 78 Haight Street in Hayes Valley. The project developer, TNDC, started work in 2022 but was stalled after a neighboring property owner complained about construction compromising their structure’s foundation.
The City of Oakland has approved permits for constructing two hundred homes at 7300 MacArthur Boulevard in Eastmont, Oakland. The project will replace a vacant parcel along the busy thoroughfare and across from the Eastmont Town Center with two hundred homes, including twenty affordable units. RMG Housing, a Los Angeles-based developer, is responsible for the application.
The Foster City Planning Commission is scheduled to review plans for the latest expansion of the Gilead Sciences global headquarters campus. The five-story infill at 331 Lakeside Drive will contribute to the 72-acre Gilead campus along San Mateo County’s waterfront. Gensler is responsible for the design.
Just over a year after the official groundbreaking ceremony, crews have topped out the five-story affordable educator housing development at 1360 43rd Avenue in San Francisco’s Sunset District. The Shirley Chisholm Village has replaced a former school and outdoor yard with the low-rise apartment infill designed by BAR Architects with G7A. MidPen Housing is the project developer, and Cahill is the general contractor.
Renderings have been revealed for a new two-story Carpenter’s Union Hall at 3433 3rd Street by San Francisco’s India Basin. The project will create a new office and assembly space for the Carprtner Local Union 22 members. Equity Community Builders and Badiner Urban Planning are collaborating on the application.
